Time constants define how the exponential averaging in the level detector is performed. It
defines how the fluctuating sound pressure variations are smoothed or averaged to correct readings for the application.
There are three different time constants (F, S and I) available, and the selection is often defined in measurement standards.
The Nor145 can generate time weightings based on all three time constants simultaneously.
In this menu, enabling a time constant does not automatically measure this constant. You must also add wanted functions in the
Functions menu. Deselecting a time constant does however remove the corresponding constant from the Functions menu.
In addition, the Peak function is available for weighting networks and senses the amplitude of the time signal.
Time constants in Idle mode chooses which constant that is applied to the levels while in Idle.
