All level functions are denoted with a "L" first to indicate a level measurement.
The second upper-case character can either indicate a frequency dependent function, or a frequency weighting network.
- A - indicates an A-weighted frequency network.
- C - indicates a C-weighted frequency network.
- Z - indicates a Z-weighted frequency network.
- f - indicates a frequency dependent function, logging all frequencies.
The third capital character will indicate the time constant, or the special sound exposure level:
- F - "Fast" time constant.
- S - "Slow" time constant.
- I - "Impulse" time constant.
- E - sound exposure level (also available as L_IE, impulse sound exposure level.
The rest of the characters are usually in lower-case, with some exceptions:
- eq - equivalent continous level.
- spl - the sound pressure level.
- peak - the amplitude of signal.
- max - the maximum value of a time function in a profile slice.
- min - the minimum value of a function in a profile slice.
- TM5 - a special standard for equivalent sound pressure.
