Nor283
Dodecahedron loudspeaker
The Nor283 is a compact, lightweight dodecahedron loudspeaker engineered for demanding field and laboratory applications. Despite its small physical footprint, it delivers robust, low-frequency sound power levels that surpass our previous loudspeaker designs.
When driven by the battery-operated Nor282 power amplifier, the Nor283 provides a sound power level of up to 123 dB Lw. For reliable operation and to maintain warranty coverage, the Nor283 is designed for use exclusively with the Nor282 or Nor280 power amplifiers. Use of other amplifiers may damage the loudspeaker and will void the warranty.

About Nor283
The Nor283 is engineered for continuous operation at full power for more than one hour, delivering a stable and reliable sound source for demanding acoustic measurements. It is primarily intended for use with the Norsonic power amplifiers Nor280 and Nor282, which incorporate integrated protection and limitation circuits to safeguard the loudspeaker from unwanted low- and high-frequency components outside the bands required for sound insulation testing.
The battery-powered Nor282 power amplifier includes preset functions that optimize the performance of the Nor283. Additional fine-tuning of the frequency response to suit specific room characteristics is easily achieved using the built-in graphical equalizer.
Lightweight construction with high field robustness
A low weight of less than 5.3 kg is achieved through specially designed loudspeaker elements with neodymium magnets, without compromising robustness or reliability in the field.
Durable enclosure and loudspeaker protection
The enclosure is molded from high-density polyethylene, and the loudspeaker elements are protected by custom steel grids to ensure long-term durability.
Tripod support and flexible mounting options
The Nor283 is supplied with a high-quality tripod to support correct positioning, helping to minimize unwanted reflections and structural transmission paths. Inside the 25 mm tripod tube mount on the loudspeaker, an 8 mm threaded insert allows secure upside-down mounting in the ceiling of anechoic chambers or similar test environments.

Applications
What are you going to measure?
Environmental noise
Reliable noise monitoring with sound level meter, stand-alone terminals or large-scale systems.
Building acoustic
Building acoustic is about the sound that travels between rooms - something you'd rather avoid.
