Nor850-MF1
Measurement system
The Nor850-MF1 is a scalable multi-channel measurement front end for professional acoustic measurements. It combines up to 10 synchronised measurement channels in one rack and can be expanded with additional racks or connected Nor145 and Nor150 sound level meters when larger systems are required.
Designed for building acoustics, room acoustics, sound power, appliances and general analysis, the Nor850-MF1 gives consultants, laboratories and manufacturers one flexible platform for complex measurement tasks.
Together with Nor850 software, the system provides a complete workflow from measurement set-up and synchronised data acquisition to analysis, documentation and standards-compliant reporting.

Why choose Nor850-MF1?
Built for complex measurements
Perform synchronised measurements across multiple channels, rooms and positions without managing separate instruments or workflows
Scales with your requirements
Start with one rack and expand with additional channels, racks or connected Nor145 and Nor150 instruments as projects grow. Customisable to fit every need.
Designed for professional testing
A stable measurement chain, traceable calibration and structured reporting make the system suitable for consultants, manufacturers and accredited laboratories.
From laboratory testing to field measurements
Combined with the Nor850 Sound Power module, the Nor850-MF1 provides a complete multi-channel solution for determining sound power levels in accordance with relevant field and laboratory standards.
The rack enables synchronised measurements from multiple microphone positions, while Nor850 handles the measurement workflow, calculations, corrections and report generation. This makes the system suitable for product noise testing, machinery measurements and formal documentation in both controlled laboratories and practical field environments.
-
Supports sound power measurements in accordance with applicable ISO 374x standards.
-
Can be configured with the required microphone channels, signal sources and accessories.
-
Suitable for outdoor machinery measurements, including ISO 6395 applications when configured with the necessary equipment.
Measure source and receiving rooms simultaneously
For building acoustics, the Nor850-MF1 can be configured as a complete multi-channel system for measuring source and receiving rooms at the same time. This is especially useful in laboratory set-ups, where repeatability, speed and control of the measurement chain are essential.
With Nor850 Building Acoustics, the system supports workflows for airborne sound insulation, impact sound insulation, façade measurements and related building acoustic tasks. Output channels can also be included for signal generation and controlled excitation, allowing loudspeakers, tapping machines or other sources to be integrated directly into the measurement set-up. For laboratory applications, the system can be combined with the Nor265A Microphone Positioning System, enabling both fixed-point measurements and automated moving microphone measurements within the same workflow.
-
Synchronised source-room and receiving-room measurements.
-
Efficient laboratory workflows for repeated test set-ups.
-
Input and output channel configurations.
Scalable multi-channel architecture
The Nor850-MF1 supports up to 10 measurement channels per rack and can be expanded with additional racks when higher channel counts are required.
Rack channels, Nor145 sound level meters and Nor150 sound and vibration analyzers can operate together within the same measurement system, giving users a flexible setup for field measurements, laboratory testing and large-scale acoustic investigations.
Traceable measurement chain
Measurement data is generated directly in the Nor850-MF1 hardware or connected sound level meters. The PC functions as a control, display and processing unit, and with the sensor database it is easy to quickly switch between different sensors, microphones and setups. Combined with the multi-channel calibration tool, the process of keeping microphones calibrated and verified becomes seamless.
This allows the computer to be replaced or upgraded without affecting the integrity of the measurement system.
